Discover the Exciting Features of Google’s New Pixel Watch 4: Advanced Health Tracking and Emergency Communications

During the highly anticipated Made by Google event held on Wednesday, Google introduced its latest innovation: the Pixel Watch 4. This next-gen smartwatch boasts a sleek domed display, robust standalone satellite communication capabilities, enhanced health and fitness tracking, and much more.

The Pixel Watch 4 is available in two sizes: the 41mm model starts at $349 for Wi-Fi and $449 for LTE, while the larger 45mm version starts at $399 for Wi-Fi and $499 for LTE.

Equipped with an Actua 360 display, the Pixel Watch 4 offers a physically curved design that enhances the active area by 10% and features 16% smaller bezels for an edgeless look. Additionally, the display shines brighter than ever, boasting a remarkable brightness of 3,000 nits.

For those opting for the LTE models, the Pixel Watch 4 includes standalone emergency satellite communications. This feature connects users to emergency services via a network of geo-stationary satellites, ensuring you receive help even when you’re off the grid. This impressive functionality is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Wearable Platform, according to Google.

In a bid to enhance user experience, the Pixel Watch 4 allows users to simply raise their wrist to access Gemini, eliminating the need to press buttons or say “Hey Google.” This feature is particularly useful when your hands are full, like when carrying groceries or walking your dog. Furthermore, the watch is equipped with on-device AI capabilities, including Smart Replies that generate tailored responses for your conversations.

Google has also improved battery performance, with the Pixel Watch 4 offering 25% longer battery life compared to its predecessor. Users can expect around 30 hours of use with the 41mm model and 40 hours with the 45mm version, along with a new fast-charging dock for quick power-ups.

Designed for durability, the Pixel Watch 4 is water-resistant up to 50 meters and features serviceable components including a replaceable battery and display for the first time.

The new dual-frequency GPS in the Pixel Watch 4 enhances route tracking precision, even in challenging environments like urban areas or thick forests.

Additionally, if you forget to start a workout, the watch’s AI capabilities will automatically detect and categorize your activity. New exercise options have also been added, such as basketball and pickleball.

Google is also rolling out a personal AI health coach that provides users with fitness and sleep coaching based on metrics collected from the Pixel Watch. This innovative feature aims to serve as a 24/7 AI-powered companion, offering personalized guidance tailored to individual health goals. Users can pose questions like, “Is this cold plunge actually good for me?” or “What’s the best way to fight jet lag?”

A preview of the health coach will be available this October for users with any Fitbit device or Pixel Watch in the U.S.

You can preorder the Pixel Watch 4 now, with official availability starting on October 9.
