Google has launched a new app called Doppl. It is an experimental app from Google Labs that lets you try on clothes using just your phone. The app is now available for Android and iOS users in the U.S.
Doppl makes it easy to see how an outfit might look on you without actually wearing it. You just upload a photo of yourself and a picture of the outfit. The app creates a digital version of you and shows you wearing that outfit. This helps you decide whether the style suits you or not.
You can use photos or screenshots from anywhere — maybe from a friend, a clothing store, social media, or even a thrift shop. Doppl also creates AI-generated videos to bring your look to life. These short videos show how the clothes move, helping you get a better idea of how they might feel in real life.
Google had earlier added a virtual try-on feature to Google Shopping, where users could try clothes using a single photo. Doppl builds on that and adds more features, including the ability to try on any outfit from photos or screenshots.
The app is still new and may not always be perfect. The fit, colors, and clothing details might not be 100% accurate. But Google says that Doppl is an experiment, and user feedback will help improve it over time.
