Life360, the popular location-tracking app, has announced an exciting new feature: No-Show Alerts. This innovative notification system will inform users when a friend or family member fails to arrive at a specified location at the designated time, ensuring peace of mind without the need for constant location checks.
Launching just in time for the back-to-school season, Life360 aims to alleviate parental stress regarding their children’s safe arrival at school. This feature serves as a helpful alternative to the common “Where are you?” texts that often disrupt both parents and kids.
To activate No-Show Alerts, simply navigate to the circle of the individual you wish to monitor, tap on their profile, and select the “Set a No Show Alert” option.
From there, you can specify a location and time to receive a one-time notification if they don’t arrive on schedule. For added convenience, these alerts can be set to repeat by selecting the “Repeat” option and choosing the desired days of the week.
The No-Show feature includes a grace period of a few minutes after the scheduled time, allowing for minor delays before the alert is triggered.
According to Mike Zeman, CMO of Life360, “Coordination is a major concern for families, especially during the hectic back-to-school season. In fact, we see a spike in new app downloads leading up to the first day of school.” He added, “No Show Alerts are designed to bring parents peace of mind, reducing the need for constant check-ins on their children’s whereabouts. This tool promotes trust within families while providing a safety net if a family member fails to arrive as planned.”
While Life360 primarily highlights the parent-child dynamic, any family member can set alerts for others, provided that location sharing is enabled. Users can also disable location sharing at any time.
This much-anticipated No-Show feature is rolling out to all U.S. members today, with international availability expected in the coming weeks.
