Meta has launched a new Gaming Accelerator in India to support small and mid-sized game developers. The company has partnered with four top venture capital firms including Bitkraft Ventures, Kalaari Capital, Lumikai Fund, and Elevation Capital for this programme.
This three-month programme will help 20 to 30 Indian game developers and studios grow with the help of mentoring, funding guidance, and Meta’s AI tools, including Llama.
The announcement was made during the Meta Marketing Summit – Gaming Edition. Speaking about the programme, Arun Srinivas, Meta India’s new Managing Director, said it will empower Indian developers and help them go global.
What the Meta Gaming Accelerator Offers
Developers selected for the programme will receive:
- Training on ad monetisation and platform integration using Meta Ads and Audience Network
- Sessions on player acquisition and campaign optimisation
- Workshops on AI and Llama tools for storytelling, personalisation, and game design
- Business mentorship and funding guidance from top VC firms
- Support for international expansion
The programme will end with a Demo Day, where developers can showcase their progress to investors and Meta leaders. Top performers could receive funding and platform support.
India’s gaming industry is growing rapidly, thanks to mobile-first users and increasing AI adoption. With this accelerator, Meta wants to play a bigger role in this growth.
The launch also comes just days after Arun Srinivas was appointed as Managing Director and Head of Meta India, taking over from Shivnath Thukral. Srinivas will report to Sandhya Devanathan, who now oversees both India and Southeast Asia.
Meta is also expanding its AI presence in India. The company plans to open a new office in Bengaluru and is hiring for engineering and product roles. This move is part of Meta’s larger investment in AI, where it promised to spend “hundreds of billions” earlier this year.
