With a plethora of national titles to his name, he enters PPL Season 2 as the leading Indian contender in the 70 kg division, eager to secure victory and elevate Mumbai Muscle to new heights.

As the league prepares to debut on Sony Sports Network from August 5, we had the opportunity to sit down with Jogendra Yadav for an exclusive interview before the season kicks off.

Q: Jogendra, you’ve been dominating the 70 kg category for quite some time. What fuels your motivation to consistently push your limits?

For me, it’s all about my passion for the sport. Each time I step onto the table, I feel truly alive. Being a gym owner provides me with a constant environment of training, discipline, and a community of like-minded individuals. However, my greatest motivation stems from within, knowing that I can always improve—become stronger and smarter.

Q: How has your experience been with the Mumbai Muscle franchise?

It’s been absolutely fantastic. Mumbai Muscle has fostered an incredible atmosphere for athletes—professional, well-structured, and highly team-oriented. The camaraderie is palpable, from newcomers to seasoned veterans. The support from ownership and management has made us feel valued, inspiring me to give my absolute best.

Q: What does your daily training regimen look like as you prepare for PPL Season 2?

I train twice a day. In the morning, I focus on strength training at the gym, and in the evening, I engage in table practice with my training partners. My training emphasizes wrist endurance, back pressure, and side hits. Nutrition and recovery are equally crucial, especially at this competitive level.

Q: The Pro Panja League is transforming the landscape of Indian armwrestling. What’s your perspective on its growth?

The PPL has been revolutionary. Previously, armwrestling was perceived merely as a hobby. Now, with extensive broadcast exposure and a professional framework, it’s become a viable career path for many athletes. Fans recognize us, sponsors are getting involved—it’s everything we envisioned.

Q: Are there any particular rivals you’re excited to compete against this season?

I’m ready to face anyone who steps up to the table. However, there are a few strong competitors I faced last season where the matches were closely contested, and I’d like to settle those scores. It’s all in good spirit—just healthy competition. This season, I’m also eager to test my skills against newcomers like Deepanker Mech, Manoj, Vanlallura, and Raymond.

Q: Finally, do you have a message for your fans and the supporters of Mumbai Muscle?

Thank you for your unwavering support; it means the world to me. To all Mumbai Muscle fans, get ready—we’re coming back harder, faster, and stronger than ever. Keep cheering for us, and I promise you’ll witness some thrilling action on the table!

As the league kicks off on August 5 on Sony Sports Network, all eyes will be on Jogendra Yadav to see if he can lead Mumbai Muscle to championship glory. Whether in the gym or on the mat, one thing is certain: Jogendra is poised to make history.
