OPPO has launched a new 5G smartphone OPPO A5 5G in India. This phone comes just weeks after the release of the OPPO A5x 5G and is aimed at users looking for a budget-friendly device with solid performance and durability.

The OPPO A5 5G features a large 6.67-inch HD+ LCD screen. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling smoother and animations more fluid. The screen also offers up to 1,000 nits peak brightness and has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i for added durability against scratches and drops.

One of the key highlights of the phone is its rugged build. The A5 5G comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. It means the phone has been tested to survive extreme heat, high humidity, and accidental drops. It also has an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, which adds an extra layer of protection for daily use.

To make it even tougher, OPPO has introduced a 360° Armour Body. The company claims this new design uses flagship-level reinforced glass that offers 160% better impact resistance than the OPPO A3 5G. It also features a high-strength alloy frame that is designed to withstand rough use without compromising on design.

Inside, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. This chip is built on a 6nm process and comes with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU to deliver reliable performance for multitasking, gaming, and more. Users can choose between 6GB and 8GB of RAM, and both versions come with 128GB of internal storage. You can also expand the storage up to 1TB using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15.

The OPPO A5 5G sports a 50MP main rear camera with a wide f/1.88 aperture. There is also a 2MP monochrome sensor to assist with depth and portrait shots. For selfies, it has an 8MP front-facing camera.

It includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlock. The phone also has dual SIM 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and USB Type-C.

The smartphone packs a massive 6000mAh battery. OPPO has also bundled a 45W SuperVOOC charger in the box. The company says the phone can charge to 30% in just 21 minutes, and 50% in around 37 minutes. The battery is also designed for long-term use. It retains over 80% of its original capacity even after 1,700 charge cycles, which means it should last around five years with daily charging.

The OPPO A5 5G comes in two colour options: Aurora Green and Mist White. The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs. 15,499, while the 8GB + 128GB version costs Rs. 16,999. The phone is already available on the OPPO India online store, and it will soon be available on other online platforms and retail stores across the country.
