Xiaomi has officially launched the MIX Flip 2, its latest clamshell-style foldable phone, in China. The new model improves on its predecessor with upgrades across display, design, performance, battery, and camera system.
The MIX Flip 2 features two high-resolution AMOLED screens. A 6.86-inch foldable AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 3200 nits. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and works even with wet fingers. A 4.01-inch outer AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It runs a 16:9 layout for over 500 apps and offers useful features like message previews, QR scanning, voice calls, and full keyboard input.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. To handle heat, Xiaomi has added dual vapor chamber cooling, which helps during gaming or multitasking.
It comes with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, with features like Super Xiao Ai voice assistant with car controls, Live streaming to Xiaomi cars, iPhone photo backup via Xiaomi Cloud, and Mac integration for file sharing.
The phone’s body uses a triple-curve foldable design with a frosted metal frame. Xiaomi’s new hinge “three-link, four-floating plate” is more durable and better at resisting drops and impacts. It has been tested for 200,000 folds, certified by both CQC and SGS.
Xiaomi continues its partnership with Leica for the MIX Flip 2’s camera setup. It has a 50 megapixel OV50E main camera with a 23mm Leica Summilux lens and OIS, 50 megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 115° field of view and 5cm macro support. For selfies, the phone has 32MP front camera with support for 4K video recording. The software offers Leica-style filters, low-light enhancements, and a free-angle mode (45° to 120°) that lets the folded device double as a camcorder or action camera.
The phone includes dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and supports AI noise reduction during calls. The MIX Flip 2 supports dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an infrared remote. It uses Xiaomi’s Starlight wireless system for stronger signal and better long-range connectivity.
Despite being slim, the MIX Flip 2 packs a 5165mAh battery using high-silicon tech for better energy density. It supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, which is impressive for a foldable.
